I evaluate talent first by their communication skills: how customer-focused they are and how they deal with problems within their team. I also look at their knowledge of controlling costs and P&Ls. And I look at how well they retain their employees and whether they are able to complete their tasks and then some.
Andrea’s Market Perspective
Florida is always growing, especially in the Tampa Bay area and the surrounding region. In restaurants, casual dining is growing the most and the major chains are doing well, while some smaller restaurants are struggling due to rising costs.
Advice
For employers: Have your process for first and second interviews ready, and don’t drag it out. In this market, we need to move quickly.
