General Manager – Upscale Casual Restaurant & Café Opening

Location: Washington, D.C.

Compensation: $105,000 - $110,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

We are sourcing an experienced General Manager for a highly anticipated upscale casual restaurant and café opening in Washington, D.C. We are partnering with a premier hospitality group to find a dedicated professional to lead a high-volume, full-service dining and bar operation. This daytime and evening concept focuses on exceptional guest experiences and culinary excellence, deliberately excluding late-night hours.

The Opportunity

Stepping into this role means taking ownership of a $4M+ annual revenue operation from day one. You will partner directly with the Executive Chef to align front-of-house service with back-of-house execution. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will build and guide a top-tier team capable of sustaining premium service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the successful launch and daily operations of a new upscale casual concept.
• Manage full financial accountability for a $4M+ operation, delivering strong operational efficiency and revenue growth.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless food and beverage execution.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing staff to maintain top-tier service standards.
• Implement strategic solutions to optimize labor, control costs, and drive top-line sales.

Required Experience

• Proven track record as a General Manager in a $4M+ full-service restaurant environment.
• Direct experience executing new restaurant openings.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze metrics and deliver bottom-line results.
• Demonstrated top-tier leadership skills, showing a history of team retention and professional development.
